Week 36
7th September 2015

Yadra Si'a
First of all I would like to say a massive HAPPY FATHEERRSS DAAAYYY!!!! To My Grandfather and my own Father. Both have played great and vital parts in my life and have being amazing inspirations to me...

Well I don't want to share to much about last weeks emails...but I will share that the wonderful loving and comforting emails from family and friends was a big and great help of peace to me. I am well and have had a couple experiences this past week that I would like to share which helped me tremendously.
This Saturday just gone my companion said we were going to go see a less active named Uncle Edwin. He has the Aaronic Priesthood and the only thing is he lives so very far away. There are no roads or pathways where Uncle Edwin lives. Uncle Edwin is 55yrs old and walks 7 hours to attend church meetings, when he can make it because he lives so far. I was up for the challenge and we headed out the next day to go see him. We took two members (two Priest age boys) who knew where Uncle Edwin lived, we used our Toyota Hilux (Yes that is our truck) to drive as far as we could and then headed out on foot.

#FACT: Did you know Fiji has snakes!!!! There are live Pythons.. don't ask me how the got to Fiji, they're just there because we saw one and it was huge!!! But it was safe ..because the Fijians killed it and ate lol!  We took heaps of photos on this trip, a couple of me in the coconut tree's etc lol #ItsSafe and we were hungry too lol
We took photo's and then continued on. We walked along the beach, through the ocean (Low Tide, I wasn't swimming lol), we walked through bush and climbed two mountains... IM NOT JOKING.. this is all truth lmbo. I spotted a lot of crabs, kina (sea urchin), star fish, sea horses, fish and a couple octopus. We found a dead goat that had fallen of a cliff. I slipped and got a massive cut on my leg but not too deep. I'm fine :D

All up it took us 4 hours to walk to where Uncle Edwin lived. We reached the mouth of the river where the sea goes in to a river going in land. Our members told us Uncle Edwin lives on the other side of the river -.- We walked 4 hours just for them to tell us he lives on the other side of a deep and massive river!!!! #FijiansMaannnLOL

Lucky we had Uncle Edwins number and called him, he thankfully picked up the phone and at first thought we were pulling a trick as we told him we had come to see him. We could see his massive almost tree house looking house across the river, he came over on his bamboo raft. As we came out of the bush and met him on the beach it was like he was Mel Gibson from the movie castaway when he yelled with a deep of loud voice "EEELLLDDEERRSSS!!!!!! BULA VINAKA!!! "

It was like one of those scene's on the beach as he ran to greet us lol just without the slow motion hahaha... He greeted us with a firm handshake and massive Fijian smile. He was so happy to see us, he told us this was the first time anyone had come to see him. He had said a prayer only the night before and had prayed that the missionaries would come. His prayer was answered!!

It's funny because as we were walking, we thought about if we should return back to the car but we didn't, we pressed on. And I really felt like Jesus Christ going after the one sheep that had gone astray, leaving the 99 sheep to search for the one. It was amazing, and a memorable experience and a great witness to my testimony, especially as Uncle Edwin shared with us his conversion story and his own personal testimony and love for the Missionaries, the church and his goal to take his 8 sons & wife to the temple next year. It was a wonderful and UN-forgetable experience. I really felt the spirit was with us and he rewarded us greatly for our diligence to seek the one. Thank you Uncle Edwin.

Another experience I wish to share also is, last week I was still struggling and I was becoming angry and upset even at the smallest things people would say and I just wanted to go back to the flat one night. I gave up so easy and gave in so fast to the adversaries voice. I was on splits with a Priest and as we walked through the village very fast because I was not keen on speaking to anyone, we walked past a member family I didnt really know to well and was too shy to speak too and something told me "Just, go speak to them. Just Try!" ... I followed this small and gentle prompting and as I sat down with the family and just talked with them, I felt a comfort, an assurance and a loving warm feeling come upon me. I felt so much better when I had returned home to the flat instead of returning home before 9pm. I went to sleep that night peacefully and assurance in my heart because of the spirits help in the work that evening.

Well that's all I wish to share I have to keep writing other people lol. And have a lot of preparations to do today because of zone conference coming up this Wednesday. My companion and I are giving a small training, auuuee :P

Love you all family, Happy Fathers day to my Dad and Grandad :) Love to all my Family :)
