Teaching
Week 70
02nd May 2016
Ni sa Bula Vinaka, Kia ora koutou katoa & Talofa Lava :)
I love speaking in different tongues lol speaking English is just too mainstream/ normal for me now. Im not a big fan of speaking it hahah ... its going to annoy the heck out of me when I have to come home and speak english all the time lol oii auuue...
You know, I am so incredibly grateful and blessed, yes I am blessed to be able to serve in Fiji, I remember when my Bishop in Sydney, Bishop Mackie asked me in my interview "Do you have any specific area's you would like to serve?" I immediately replied "THE PACIFIC!!!". As many of you know back home who maybe reading this I have always had a special place in my heart for the Polynesian Culture, and I couldn't be more blessed to be actually serving in the land of my dreams and speaking the language also. What a blessing that is to me :)
I can't wait to come back to Brisbane & get back into Heilani!!! I miss dancing so much!! Isa lei, au mada ga, sa via lesu tale i vale meu meke tale vaka levu lol Well how is everyone? well I'm hoping :) We had a good week with a total 22 lessons this week which according to the mission standards of excellence is BOSS!! Most of our lessons were less active and Recent convert lessons not too many lessons with our investigators.
This past week though a lot happened, we lost a few investigators. We had being trying to see Judi for a month now but she keeps putting us off or she isn't home.... I have to admit later that afternoon when we returned home I was really hurt inside, I had so much hope for her and knew she could do it and yet the seed wanted to grow in the other direction rather than sprout straight up towards the sun :( We shared some awesome as lessons together & I had a strong relationship with her as Missionary and Investigator but then it just ended in one question. -.- pretty stink if you ask me, but nothing I can do about people's will and decisions. Keep moving on and searching for the one seed who is prepared.
We also lost poor Reapi, a recently new investigator but that was because she moved to Nadi with her sister & from what we're told is taking lessons and progressing wonderfully from there. We were told by a member she moved because her mother wasn't giving support to her and her new born baby, she fully ignored their existence. So Reapi gave her baby away to a member in the village to have a somewhat better life and Reapi moved to Nadi to start university. Sad story, we'll miss her, she was a awesome investigator!!
We weren't successful to meet up again with Laisa the referral we contacted last week, we are just really struggling to find people to teach ie. investigators :D I love teaching less actives and our wonderful recent converts but I really want to teach some new people, some investigators. Missionary work is not just the responsibility of the missionaries but everyone, the members, ward presidency and yes even the youth! everyone can be a missionary .
Yes, but anyway other than that nothing was to else too special happened. On a happier note though we did share 22 lessons and one of them was with our recent convert Tevita who attended an investigator lesson with us and man!! We should have called him Elder Tevita, he was so amazing, it was as if he had being teaching the Restoration and the gospel for years. The investigator family loved the lesson and Tevita was a big help with helping to clear things up as well as sharing his conversion story woohoo!!! amazing!! The investigator family is awesome the parents names Manoa and Reapi also :) hoping to set them a baptismal date next week and here hoping they except and we can kick things into gear after that. So yeah that was a positive about this week.
Take care and be strong & remember God.
