Working really hard!

Week 49
07th December 2015

We worked hard!!!! This week, my companion and I went hard this week we taught 7 lessons in 2 days which for us is like a miracle. Granted as well we were only in our area for 4 days this week due to some meetings and other missionary struggles lol but we worked hard and I made sure that we didn't have a boring nor wasteful moment.

Thursday and Friday was packed... Thursday we did service with the Relief Society and I taught them how to use the naturally grown Koko in Fiji and turn it into Koko, like Koko Samoa... They were so amazed and next week hopefully we can meet with the Branch Presidency and talk about making it an activity for the branch to sell Koko and use the money for members who cannot travel because of money issues. We also showered in the river because we were in the middle of the Bush, on a hot Fijian day. We went and used the koko from our Branch presidents farm and he showed us a place to have a shower and cool off quickly before heading back to make to actual Koko. I will admit though, haha I have become quiet popular among the women in villages because I know how to use the Koko and they're full on surprised hahaha... Then we hit 3 lessons that day too.. WAS AN AWESOME DAY!!!!

Friday we went to work leaving the house at 8am to catch our bus to one of our less actives at 9am. It's like a half an hour walk to the main road from the village to catch the bus so have to allow for walking time and travel time etc lol. We went up to the village Seqani and met with a less active and spent some time in that village because the next bus down back where we live wasn't until 3pm. We spent some good time and enjoyed our stay there, spiritually and physically we were all fed well ahaha.. We were tired though because we also did some service, we pretty much service everyday. It like the best way to build relationships with non-members and less actives pretty much everyone too.. We caught our bus though, tired and we saw a single mother with her 2 crying children and 3 big gym bags. She obviously needed help, I turned to my companion and said "Soa, I know our house is like about and hours walk from here but this lady needs help..." he agreed immediately and we got off the bus to help this mother carry her bags and children in the hot sun to her house which was like 20 minutes away ahaha... it was a sacrifice but we knew that she needed help and so we were here tender mercy that day. :) We had 4 lessons that day and of course yet another great day, busy packed and fun!!!

Saturday we had planned to have a activity for the youth. Us missionaries were conducting it, Branch Presidency gave us the go. We spent all Saturday morning preparing for it, we woke up early showered, ate and drank milo and went to work. It was to start at 1pm and by 4pm still nobody showed up, not even one member nor non-member we invited... I was kind've let down!! I questioned why they activity hadn't come through, we had being busy all week doing our duty and responsibilities but the answer came The lord has his reasons for all things and we cannot receive a witness untill after the trial of our faith too.. I do have to be grateful because that afternoon we went and played volleyball with the youth in the village, netball too it was way fun!!! But I have to be thankful because our relationship with the people in the village is strengthening so I'm happy about that well at least my relationship is, my companion on the other hand is very strong willed and personality and the Fijians don't warm up to him as easily but as a companionship we are working on that together to help strengthen one another :D

Sunday was good, we were suppose to have our less actives attend church, Sister Vasemaca and her daughter Sereana as well as Marica and her little sister Asena who is a investigator at the moment... but sadly none of them came. We had a attendance of 14 at church on Sunday a usual Sunday made up of the branch presidents family and 2 other families. I have to admit though I was so happy and proud of my Branch Presidency they as a presidency made goals together which is an all time first!!!!! that Sunday after church they went and visited less active members in the village auuueee I was so happy and they've planned a branch service project.... just when I thought Saturday and Sunday weren't turning out so well they suprise me sorry no the Lord suprises me!!!! he has one humorous personality sometimes our heavenly father hahaha gotta love 'em

Investigators well we actually dont have too many only 3 at the moment, one who has been away. This area has definitely taught me that you will never recieve a witness untill your faith is trialed and reshaped, burised and burned only to reveal the diamond within. We say a phrase in fijian and it goes 'kua ni leqa, Toso tiko ga" meaning don't worry, just keep moving. That has been the phrase of my whole time here in Nabua just keep moving. Sometimes I get really annoyed and quesion whether I'm doing a good job as a senior companion to my soa and as a individual missionary almost reaching his year mark in a couple weeks. But I think if you just keep going and keep being busy the you you know will change into the you you want to know :D oohh that should be a scripture lol bbahahaha jokes
Loloma levu vei kemuni kece!!!
XOXOXOXOXOXOX

Really hard week...

Week 48
30th November 2015

Isa, This week we didn't get as many lessons and appointments. We are still trying to start this area off, so far progress is moving slow and well trying our best to continuously stay hopeful and positive. This week just gone was a hard one!!  The Lord has his time for everything though I know...  Its just hard seeing all these less actives and watching them drift further and further from the Tree. We love them so much and know their potential and what can come from it if they use it and dont just take the things of God on the shoulder ...

Haha I'm teaching the women members in the village where we live how to make Koko Samoa lol. Here in Fiji they just suck the seeds of the Koko and then chuck it away not realizing that can use the seeds. They are so mind blown when I showed them how to use it hahaha..

Nothing really to report on this week though either, this week wasn't a great one lots of struggles we faced and trials too. We really do love these members and non members so much we're just running out of ideas of what to do to keep the fire burning.. We've being doing idea after idea, strategy after strategy, looking at things at various different angle's and still nothing.

Our strongest members just left to go have Christmas in Suva so we don't know when they will be back, I was close as with them and fricken balled my eyes out yesterday saying goodbye.. Oi auuue!!! Positivity is the key and Hope too right now.
